This is a USB 3.x Gen2 active optical cable (AOC) that carries USB signal at up to 10Gbps over distances well beyond what a standard copper USB cable can reach. It uses directional USB-A connectors, a blue-shelled connector for the host/computer end and a white-shelled connector for the client/device end, with active optical circuitry built into the connector housings and no external power supply needed.
