At 50 inches, the TH-50EQ3 suits medium-sized meeting rooms and classrooms. It mounts on a 400 x 400 mm VESA pattern with M6 screws, 20 mm deep, and weighs approximately 13.5 kg. Power consumption is listed at 119 W, and the display is rated for 18 hours of operation per day. Three HDMI inputs, a PC input and a USB Type-A port connect a range of sources.

Questions

What is the Panasonic TH-50EQ3?
The TH-50EQ3 is a 50-inch class 4K UHD professional display from the EQ3 Series. It has a 3840 x 2160 resolution, 500 nits typical brightness and 5,000:1 typical contrast. It is designed for meeting rooms, classrooms, retail and digital signage.
Can the TH-50EQ3 be wall-mounted in portrait orientation?
Yes. The TH-50EQ3 supports both portrait and landscape orientation. The VESA mounting pattern is 400 x 400 mm, with M6 screws and a 20 mm hole depth. The display weighs approximately 13.5 kg, so the wall bracket must be rated for that load.
How much power does the TH-50EQ3 use?
Power consumption is listed at 119 W in on mode, with approximately 0.5 W in standby and 0.3 W when powered off. It runs on 110 to 240 V AC at 50 or 60 Hz, and the manufacturer rates it for 18 hours of operation per day.
How is the TH-50EQ3 controlled from a room system?
Through RS-232C serial control (D-sub 9-pin) or the LAN port, which supports PJLink. A room control system can operate the display over either connection. The LAN port is 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX, so it connects to a standard Ethernet network.
Can the TH-50EQ3 play content from a USB drive?
Yes. Insert a USB memory stick holding saved content and playback starts automatically, with no PC or set-top box needed. The display is 4K compatible, but still images and videos cannot be mixed, and some file formats may not play. See the operation manual for restrictions.
