The M787 has an 87-inch board with a 16:10 projection area of 1875 x 1171 mm and a durable hard-coated steel surface optimized for projection. Its Advanced IR touch layer supports up to 20 simultaneous touches for two users, and Object Awareness distinguishes between pen, finger, eraser and palm. The digitizing resolution is approximately 32,767 x 32,767, and the surface is compatible with dry-erase markers.

The board connects to a Windows or Mac computer over a full-speed USB 2.0 connection at 12 Mbps and draws its power from that cable, so it needs no separate power supply. SMART Notebook, SMART Ink and SMART Product Drivers are included. The 87-inch board measures 1953 x 1262 x 136 mm, weighs 15 kg and carries a three-year limited equipment warranty.
