The PRS S2 series is designed to expand the lineup, and is based on the guitars of the main PRS series. The electric guitar Custom 22 Series S2 is the younger brother of the PRS core model. The name of the PRS models also reflects the number of frets on the fretboard 22. In the PRS Custom S2 series, functions are cut a little and the aesthetics are changed, due to this, these guitars have a lower price compared to older models. 

Custom 22 models are the quintessential PRS guitars. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith showed to the public at NAMM SHOW in 1985. This was the first exhibition experience for PRS Guitars. Guitars of this model are extremely popular among musicians and sound on international tours of artists, national concerts and in recording studios. The body of the guitar is made of solid mahogany with a maple top. The S2 Custom 22 guitars feature branded PRS Tremolo bridges and PRS 85/15 “S” pickups. The 85/15 sensors were developed personally by Paul Reed Smith for the 30th anniversary of PRS, which was reflected in their name 1985-2015. They offer remarkable clarity and enhanced high and low frequencies. The volume and tone controls are complemented by a 3-position switch for pickup coils. PRS low Mass Locking pegs are also developed by PRS specialists.
