InFocus 85-inch Interactive Display – INF8501

The InFocus INF8501 is a discontinued 85-inch LCD display with an embedded PC, three HDMI inputs, a DisplayPort input and picture-in-picture viewing. It is intended for large meeting rooms, classrooms and training spaces where a single big screen is shared by a group. The INF8501 hardware guide describes an 85-inch LCD display controlled by a remote and a keypad on the right-hand side. The Audio menu selects HDMI 1 to 3, DisplayPort, Audio 1 or Audio 2, and the Speaker setting chooses between internal and external speakers such as a sound bar. Picture-in-picture offers corner and side-by-side layouts with swap, position and audio selection, and a Freeze function holds the current image on screen.

The Home button returns the active source to the embedded PC. The On-Screen Display menu has Picture, Screen, Audio, PiP, Configuration and Advanced Option pages, with brightness, contrast, sharpness, colour temperature and three-colour control. Dimming offers 10, 30, 70 or 100, and the aspect ratio can be set to Wide or 4:3. DDC/CI and IR control settings sit in the Advanced Option menu, and an HDMI 1.3 or higher source is needed for HDMI audio.
