What does LSZH mean and why choose it over a PVC-jacketed Cat6 cable?
LSZH stands for low-smoke zero-halogen: the jacket compound is formulated to emit very little smoke and no corrosive halogen gas if it burns. It is commonly specified for cable runs inside enclosed public spaces, plant rooms and building risers where smoke behaviour during a fire is a design concern.
Is this cable shielded?
No. It is a U/UTP (unshielded twisted pair) construction with four twisted pairs and no overall foil or braid screen, which is the standard format for most Cat6 horizontal cabling installations.
What network speeds does this Cat6 cable support?
Category 6 cabling is designed to support Gigabit Ethernet over the full 100m channel and can support 10 Gigabit Ethernet over shorter runs, subject to installation practice and the rest of the channel components.
