The Fluke BT508 is a battery health analyser from Fluke's 500 Series Battery Analyser range, designed for maintenance engineers responsible for UPS batteries, telecoms rectifier battery strings, generator starting batteries, and substation DC supply batteries. The BT508 measures battery internal resistance (impedance) and conductance using an AC injection test that does not require disconnecting the battery from the load — allowing in-service testing of individual cells and entire battery strings while the system remains live. Battery internal resistance is a leading indicator of battery degradation: a battery with rising impedance relative to its rated or baseline impedance is approaching end-of-life before the battery voltage begins to drop under load. The BT508 stores test results with cell reference numbering for string comparison, and Bluetooth Fluke Connect enables wireless data transfer to the Fluke Connect app for battery string health reports and trend tracking.
