Barco Collaboration Management Suite Software – CMGS

The Barco Collaboration Management Suite (CMGS) is discontinued central management software for ClickShare and wePresent installations. It was the predecessor of the XMS Virtual Edge, and the manufacturer advises using the upgraded eXperience Management Suite (XMS) instead. CMGS was designed to manage ClickShare and wePresent devices from one place. The manufacturer's notice states that CMGS was to reach end-of-life at the end of 2019. Its management functions cover health and status monitoring, which shows whether devices are online, offline or disconnected; scheduling of software updates from a central location; and user management, which assigns usage rights in line with user responsibility. CMGS runs on Linux.

For a current deployment, the manufacturer points to the XMS Cloud Management Platform. The XMS Virtual Edge, a free software download (OVA file), and the XMS Edge, a hardware appliance, both act as the gateway to that platform and offer the same functionality and security.
