Panasonic 12x Optical Zoom PTZ Conference Camera – AW-HE20

The Panasonic AW-HE20 is a compact PTZ conference camera with 12x optical zoom, a 71-degree wide-end horizontal view and Full HD output for meeting rooms and huddle spaces. The AW-HE20 has a 1/2.8-type MOS sensor with about 8.46 million effective pixels and a motorised 12x optical zoom lens (f=3.9 mm to 46.8 mm, 35 mm equivalent 26.4 mm to 316.4 mm). Its horizontal angle of view runs from 71.0° at wide to 6.0° at tele. It outputs Full HD video through HDMI, 3G-SDI and IP, with MJPEG, H.264 and H.265 streaming modes. It pans ±170° and tilts from -30° to 90°.

The camera can be set up as a desktop unit or suspended from a ceiling. With the PTZ Virtual USB driver and a LAN connection, it provides video and audio in the same way as a USB camera, which the manufacturer says also works with video platforms such as Panopto. A single PoE+ cable carries power, control and video. Panasonic remote controllers and PTZ Control Center software can operate it, and the manufacturer publishes a compatibility chart for controllers.
