The HID FARGO DTC1 II is HID's entry-level direct-to-card (DTC) printer, designed for organisations that print ID cards in moderate volumes — issuing new employee badges, replacement access cards, visitor credentials, or membership cards on demand without the throughput requirements of a high-volume card bureau. Direct-to-card printing transfers dye sublimation colour from a ribbon directly onto the card surface, producing full-colour photo ID cards at lower cost and smaller footprint than retransfer printers. The DTC1 II offers optional magnetic stripe encoding and optional dual-sided printing as upgrade configurations, enabling organisations to start with a basic single-sided printer and add encoding or dual-sided capability if required. USB connectivity with optional Ethernet provides integration with HR, visitor management, and access control card printing software.
