The Fluke BTL21 is the interactive test probe accessory for the Fluke 500 Series Battery Analysers (BT510, BT520, BT521). The BTL21 probe provides the physical Kelvin four-point contact tips that clamp onto individual battery cell terminals for internal resistance measurement, and includes an integrated temperature sensor that measures the battery cell surface temperature at the point of contact. Temperature correction is essential for accurate battery resistance comparison — battery internal resistance changes with temperature, and a reading taken on a cold battery will be higher than the same battery measured at normal operating temperature. The BTL21's integrated temperature sensor allows the instrument to apply temperature compensation to resistance readings automatically, producing corrected values that can be accurately compared to the battery's rated room-temperature resistance specification and to previous measurements taken under different temperature conditions.
