The Barco RGB laser upgrade moves legacy lamp- or LED-based OverView rear-projection video walls to RGB laser illumination, for 50-, 67-, 70- and 80-inch systems. The upgrade gives legacy Barco video walls RGB laser illumination in place of lamp or LED light sources. The manufacturer describes RGB lasers as offering higher brightness, an extended color gamut and a longer lifetime. After the upgrade, the display offers Full HD (1920 x 1080, 16:9) or SXGA+ (1400 x 1050, 4:3) resolution, 1,800:1 on-screen contrast and Sense X automatic calibration for color stability. Redundant laser banks and power supply drivers are built in.

Upgrade paths are listed by screen size and aspect ratio. The manufacturer maps legacy OverView, cDG and cDR+ models to ODL-series RGB laser models, for example OV-7xx to ODL-715 at 70-inch 4:3 and OL-521 to ODL-521 at 50-inch 16:9.
