OVERVIEW

The Extron DTP2 CrossPoint 82 is an 8x2 matrix switcher that supports signal resolutions up to 4K/60 at 4:4:4 for all inputs and outputs. It features DisplayPort and HDMI inputs, an HDMI output, and Extron DTP2 extension to send 4K/60 video, audio, and control signals up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CATx cable. The DTP2 matrix output is powered by Extron Vector™ 4K scaling technology, capable of seamless switching, logo keying, and scaled resolutions up to 4K/60. A built-in Extron IP Link® Pro xi control processor and integrated 100‑watt Class D power amplifier make the DTP2 CrossPoint 82 an all-in-one system design solution. It delivers excellent image quality, fast and reliable switching, along with Extron ProDSP audio processing and an HDMI loop-through.

The DTP2 CrossPoint 82 delivers all of the core functionality of a conventional AV system, in a single enclosure that replaces as many as ten separate components. In addition to saving substantial space in a rack, the compact enclosure makes it easy to standardize on a common system design throughout a facility, and to adapt this DTP2 CrossPoint® matrix switcher to many different environments where equipment space may be limited. This full-featured presentation matrix switcher is highly versatile and is ideal for presentations with content on multiple displays, and for providing a variety of AV system configurations to serve multi-purpose and divisible rooms.

Integrated 8x2 Matrix Switcher with Exclusive Vector 4K Scaling

The DTP2 CrossPoint 82 streamlines integration with computers equipped with compatible graphics cards, 4K media players, 4K cameras, and displays at 4K or UHD native resolution. All DisplayPort, HDMI, and DTP2 inputs accept high resolution signals up to 4K. The matrix switcher incorporates the Extron Vector 4K scaling engine that is specifically designed with best‑in‑class image upscaling and downscaling. The scaled DTP2 twisted pair output delivers sharp, accurate scaling of standard definition and high definition signals up to 4K, as well as downscaling of 4K source signals for lower resolution displays without losing critical image detail. For optimal picture quality, the DTP2 CrossPoint 82 delivers 4K video with 4:4:4 color sampling.

Matrix switching between the inputs and outputs enables a wide range of design possibilities to meet the audio and video requirements of boardrooms, lecture halls, and other applications with multiple displays. Flexible signal routing and reliable digital video switching with the DTP2 CrossPoint 82 allows support for multiple applications in one installation. For professional, glitch-free transitions between sources, it offers a range of switching effects on the scaled DTP2 video output. These include a freeze/fade transition that fades out a final frozen frame of the previous input source as the newly selected source fades in, a cut through black transition, and a fade through black transition. In addition, the DTP2 CrossPoint 82 provides the capability to insert a custom graphic logo, such as a company logo, into any presentation when using the scaled DTP2 output.

Support Local and Remote Sources and Displays

The DTP2 CrossPoint 82 includes one DisplayPort and five HDMI inputs. The two DTP2 twisted pair inputs and the DTP2 output are compatible with a wide variety of DTP2 endpoints, as well as all DTP® endpoints, distribution amplifiers, and switchers to support remote HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI equipment. The DTP2 inputs can receive signals from remote transmitters in areas such as a conference table, lectern, or wall for connecting a guest laptop. The scaled DTP2 output can be used to transmit from a DTP2 CrossPoint 82 in a rack to a DTP2 receiver behind a flat-panel display on a wall, above a ceiling-mounted projector, or any other remote location. The non-scaled HDMI output is ideal for connection of a local monitor. The HDMI loop-through output is selectable for any input. DTP2 transmitters and receivers are available in compact, low‑profile enclosures and floor box form factors.

When the DTP2 CrossPoint 82 is paired with DTP2 and DTP 330 transmitters and receivers, HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, or VGA, plus control and analog audio signals can be extended up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a single shielded CATx cable. With a DTP 230 endpoint, signals can be extended up to 230 feet (70 meters).

The DTP2 twisted pair inputs and output include additional convenient, integrator-friendly features designed to help simplify installation. Bidirectional RS‑232 and IR signals can be inserted from a control system and transmitted over the same shielded CATx cable, streamlining system design and installation.

Compatible with XTP CrossPoint Series Matrix Switchers

In addition to supporting DTP endpoints, the DTP2 CrossPoint 82 can be integrated into an XTP® matrix switching system with digital video and embedded audio, plus bidirectional RS‑232 and IR signal extension up to 330 feet. This is ideal for facility-wide AV system applications with a centralized AV signal distribution infrastructure, as well as several presentation spaces with local AV switching and processing. A DTP2 CrossPoint 82 in a room can connect into an XTP II CrossPoint or XTP CrossPoint matrix switcher in a central equipment rack or closet for accessing shared AV resources or sending a local presentation to several destinations in a facility.

HDBaseT-Compatible Output

The DTP2 output can be configured for compatibility with HDBaseT™-enabled displays to send digital video and embedded audio, plus bidirectional RS‑232 and IR signals up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CATx cable.
